The Sinergie-SIMA 2020 Conference: PharmaNutra a Main Partner
Businesses and universities unite at the Sinergie-SIMA 2020 Conference in an effort to promote change and discuss present and future challenges for productive systems.
Recently, Pisa has been the ‘virtual’ theatre of the Sinergie-SIMA 2020 convention, organised by the Società Italiana di Management (Italian Society of Management), in collaboration with the Faculty of Economy and Management of the University of Pisa, The Institute of Management, Sant’Anna High School and the CUEIM Foundation. The event, entitled “Grand challenges: companies and universities working for a better society” will address the role that enterprise and university are required to play in constructing a new model of development, based on ethical, social and environmental sustainability.
Amongst the companies that took part in yesterday afternoon’s session was PharmaNutra, with its CEO and co-founder, Roberto Lacorte. His speech focused on the role of businesses as social aggregators through sponsoring activities and sports events. In fact, for PharmaNutra, not only is sport a vehicle for advertising, it is also a means for promoting a culture of well-being and a healthy, active lifestyle, as well as being a method for increasing interest in our local area and a tourist attraction that in turn generates positive results for the hospitality sector. At the end of his presentation, Mr. Lacorte provided some insight into the role of the manager in modern enterprise and how businesses can work proactively with universities to create new pathways for projects and shared objectives.
A specific session at the Sinergie-SIMA 2020 conference was set aside for the topic of starting afresh following the COVID-19 health emergency, which analysed various responses put in place by companies. Many of the participating companies (in addition to PharmaNutra, KME, Acque and Conad) have succeeded in going beyond their strictly institutional activities by offering profit-free, essential goods and services during the most delicate phases of the emergency.
