Last night, Monday 29 March, with an exciting live social broadcast conducted by Radio24ās Carlo Genta, the Cetilar Racing team officially presented its 2021 racing programme. The new season will see the team, supported as always by PharmaNutra thanks to the CetilarĀ® brand, return to the track for the World Endurance Championship, the international circuit reserved for Sportscar and GT cars.
There are many new features for the CetilarĀ® team, first and foremost the change from the Dallara LMP2 to the new Ferrari 488 GTE EVO, with a consequent change of category. A totally different car, which keeps the Cetilar Racing soul in the livery, marked by the now classic blue/green colouring and the number #47, to which the teamās fans are particularly attached.
The goal for Cetilar Racing is to win the GTE Am World Championship title. This challenge seems to be within the teamās reach thanks to a competitive car and the consolidated collaboration with the AF Corse team, which will continue to support the team during the races.
The driver line-up also sees an official new entry. Antonio Fuoco, formerly of the Ferrari Driver Academy and already at the wheel with Cetilar Racing during the last 24 Hours of Daytona, will alternate at the wheel with Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto. Andrea Belicchi will take over as driver coordinator, to follow and support the three drivers throughout the FIA WEC championship.
āWe are starting a new challenge with high expectations. This time we will not be simply taking part, but we will have the concrete goal of not only doing a good job, but also achieving the results our team deserves after years of fasting.Ā We have the best team and the best car with a fascinating livery that represents Italy and eleganceā, commented Roberto Lacorte at the end of the presentation.
The 2021 āRacing with Ferrariā season will start in a weekās time, with the first track test on 6 and 7 April in Barcelona. The races, on the other hand, will officially start in May, with the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on the first weekend of May, followed a month later by the 8 Hours of PortimĆ£o. The 6 Hours of Monza, the only home race for the Italian team, is scheduled for 18 July. After the summer break it will be the turn of the 89įµŹ° edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours. The calendar closes with the two intercontinental trips to the 6 Hours of Fuji (26 September) and the 8 Hours of Bahrain (20 November).
