Cetilar Racing enters the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019 officially

Cetilar Racing alla 24 Ore di Le Mans 2019

The 24 Hours of Le Mans challenge continues for Cetilar Racing by Villorba Corse, one of the 60 teams admitted by Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) to the most famous endurance race in the world that turns to the 87th edition.

For the third year in a row, the only all-Italian team of the Prototypes entry-list will face the La Sarthe race, completing an International programme including the participation to the FIA WEC 2019-2020 – in which it makes its debut – and the Monza round of the European Le Mans Series.

Exactly 24 monts after their debut together at the 24 Hours, to share the wheel of the #47 Dallara LMP2 car will be again Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi, the latter making his return after missing the last year edition. Following an excellent effort in 2017, marked by the ninth overall place and the seventh of the category, the squad led by Raimondo Amadio finished the race again in 2018 despite a sequence of unlucky events such as the spectacular crash of Sernagiotto during the qualifying.

The date is 15, 16 June, while the countdown started last February with the Le Castellet testing, that was the first step looking forward the other test scheduled for the next days in Barcelona.

“The admission of Cetilar Racing to the next 24 Hours of Le Mans makes me and the team proud. It was not unespected, after the experience of the last two editions that were very different in terms of results but very similar under the emotional aspect. Although we knew we had the right credentials to be there this year, after the announcement we experienced a great emotion, joy and adrenaline”, said Roberto Lacorte. “I want to thank ACO for the invitation and I am convinced that our third 24 Hours of Le Mans will be an intense and memorable experience to share with thousands of fans. The team is working to live this new and great adventure. We can count on more experience, a tight-knit team and the return of Andrea Belicchi, with whom Giorgio Sernagiotto and me have an extraordinary professional and human feeling”.
