Cetilar Villorba Corse: at the start of the 4 hours of Monza
The Cetilar Villorba Corse team is ready for the 4 Hours of Monza, second round of the European Le Mans Series from 11 to 13 May, the race will be faced by Dallara P217 with Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and for the first time the Brazilian driver Felipe Nasr, already F1 driver, who will make his debut in the ELMS. The three drivers will alternate behind the wheel in the car.
The Italian team directed by Raimondo Amadio has prepared the only home event of the season, a race the team always takes with particular concentration. On the legendary circuit of Brianza the three drivers of the team tackled the session with the prototype class LMP2. The team is back from the complicated mid-April debut at Le Castellet, a race concluded in a comeback, while last year in Monza it took the fifth place overall after having battled a long time for the podium. In addition to the first experience in a race weekend with Felipe Nasr, the Italian stage of the ELMS will be crucial because it is also the last test before the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 16-17 June, where Cetilar Villorba Corse will be the only Italian team among the prototypes.
43 cars in total, 18 LMP2, will take part to the 4 Hours of Monza. The race turns on the engines tomorrow, Friday 11 May, with the first practice session. On saturday the second session starts at 9.15 am, while from 1.40 pm it will be time for qualifying. On sunday the start of the race is scheduled at 12.30, with live TV of the last hour (15.30-16.30) on SportItalia and full live streaming on www.europeanlemansseries.com
On the eve of the Monza race, the team principal Amadio comments: “With the first test a long week has begun for us, as this home race is one of the hottest moments of the season. This year we also have the arrival of Felipe Nasr to animate the weekend even more. The test was useful to check any important aspects that emerged during our trip to Le Castellet and that have to be resolved. After the inaugural test, in fact, at Monza we all have to work together to bring back a positive result that would allow us to look positively also at Le Mans, an appointment that is getting closer and closer”.
