The success of the 5th International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Anemia

The 5th International Multidisciplinary Course on Iron Anemia took place in Florence on March 31 and April 1, thanks to the support of Pharmanutra in collaboration with Zambon, trading partner in Spain and Portugal.

With this fifth edition, the conference continues to expand and becomes always more international: more than 300 doctors from around the world, 28 abstracts approved and presented as posters, 20 international speakers.

Two very intensive days dedicated to multidisciplinary discussions across different medical specialties with both absolute and functional iron deficiency anemia in the spotlight.

Some of the issues addressed: Patient Blood Management (PBM) as a holistic approach to the management of blood resources; anemia in oncology, the “originating” discipline of the disease – as defined by Professor Barni in a recent interview; nephrology, where iron deficiency anemia iron deficiency is a frequent complication of chronic renal failure.

Another key issue: supplementation with sucrosomial® iron, the only oral iron that can be compared to intravenous iron thanks to its exclusive technology.

The latest international clinical evidences obtained with sucrosomial® iron completed the lectures. Its extraordinary efficacy in the treatment of anemia represents a real revolution in oral iron supplementation.
