Transparency
Transparency in transfers of value between the pharmaceutical industry, health workers and health organisations.
The EFPIA Code of Transparency (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations), like the Code of Ethics for the Pharmaceutical Industry (hereinafter the “Codes”) are codes of professional conduct which prescribe to the members of pharmaceutical associations observance of the laws that regulate the health sector, professional conduct and suitable procedures for transparency in transfers of value between pharmaceutical companies, health workers and health organisations. JuniaPharma, as a company that is associated to Farmindustria, adheres to the principles established by the Codes and performs its business in compliance with the obligations described in the EFPIA Code adopted on June 24, 2013 by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations, and acknowledged in Italy in the Code of Ethics for the Pharmaceutical Industry, on June 30, 2016.
The EFPIA Code requires disclosure of all transfers of value, direct or indirect, in cash or in kind, carried out by pharmaceutical companies, association members, in favour of health operators or organisations for their activities of scientific consultancy, training, organisation of and participation at congresses and events, as a donation or condition of clinical research projects. Possible examples of transfers of value are contributions to costs relating to events, through health workers and/or organisations or third parties, including sponsoring of health workers to participate at educational medical events (i.e. enrolment costs, travel and accommodation expenses), loans granted to health organisations, payment for speakers.
In 2021, similarly to previous years, JuniaPharma did not undergo any expenses in favour of health workers or organisations for the aforementioned activities.
